Do You Like Books? Good! How 'Bout a Giveaway?

1      Days spent WRITING, plotting, developing character, editing, etc.

1000  Words written.
0   Moment of euphoria.
0   Moment of frustration overcome.
3   Days spent reading a good book.

I won't lie... It was a SLOW week for me. At least as far as writing was concerned. It was somewhat bordering chaos and hell as far as everything else was concerned. This week, I plan on telling everybody "NO!" and "Leave me alone!!!" Hopefully they won't be too offended.

Things I still have to do this week...
  • Finish moving daughter 1 into downstairs bedroom. (this require finding a new bed and mattress).
  • Homework. Yes, I'm back to school.
  • Spend some time planning the primary program for church.
But I plan on doing better with my writing and I don't care what everyone else wants me to do. I think I deserve a little "me time!"
Onto better things... I have a GIVEAWAY! I just finished reading Michelle Merrill's book, Changing Fate, and I loved it so much I wanted to share. Not only is this a fabulous book, but it does help benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation when you buy one. Do you ever buy a book just for the cause and think that it might not be worth reading because maybe it's too preachy, or informative, and will be lacking in all the fun stuff that books have to offer? I sometimes do, but that is NOT the case with this book!

This is a GREAT story! A really fabulous book about a girl who has fears, strengths, and insecurities just like everyone else - she just happens to have Cystic Fibrosis too, and that affects her! To me, this is a book about life and it's absolutely fantastic. And while enjoying this amazing girl, and her stubborn ability to push people away while performing karate moves on butthead bullies, you also see what it might be like to have CF. It's fun... and romantic... and funny... and yes... you will probably shed a few tears. But it's absolutely fabulous! I highly recommend it. Not only will you get another great book to enjoy, but you'll be helping out those with CF as well. Can't get any better than that!

And since I loved the book so much, and was able to win MY copy, I'm going to give one away because... well, you really need to read it! Enter below!
a Rafflecopter giveaway

Did you make a lot of progress on your WIP this week? What have you been doing to enjoy your summer? Have you, or anyone you know, had any experience with Cystic Fibrosis that you'd like to share?

Love your checklist at the top - put a smile on my face. Know it all too well. We aren't just writers, we have lives and many interests!

Changing Fate is the kind of stories I look for! Haven't seen one with a protagonist with cystic fibrosis. Glad I stopped by. Thanks for introducing me to Michelle's book!

Know when to say no. It's all right to say it sometimes.
Got through my first round of edits and added a few scenes - I'm on track.

Read some of the great reviews on Amazon. Is this book YA fiction or an adult book? The info doesn't say. Would you recommend it for a teenager?

My aunt died of CF. This is a cause that's near to my heart. Can't wait to read the book.

Everything (writing-wise) is going slower than I'd like it to because life demands more out of me in the summer. I managed to submit to a magazine yesterday and it already came back rejected. I have about 20 more submissions to go before the end of next week.

Today was the first day of summer here. And so hectic with driving my daughter around. So I can relate to not getting as much done as you'd like.

I love your accountability. As distracted as I've been this month, I may need to start doing that myself.

Pat - It is a YA book. I would most definitely recommend it for a teenager, but I think adults will enjoy it too.

Thanks Leigh! I wanted to make sure it was YA. I just ordered the book. I hope you don't mind my reviewing the book. We have different followers. I don't have a story on this topic and have been searching. Thanks so much!

And, your son would LOVE Ice Dogs! Lots of suspense! - Pat

I didn't make much progress this week either. I've been working in spurts lately.
Thanks for the give away! Hopefully next week is better, and you can get more "me time." :)
