You walk into a room and it's full of beautiful, interesting people.
They're all wearing name cards with fascinating information on them. One
catches your eye. He or she is the most gorgeous person you've ever
seen and their card contains everything on it you've ever wanted. But
your feet are pinned to the floor. Your heart pitter-patters so loud you
know if you get any closer they'll hear it beating right out of your
chest. You bite your lip and sit at the bar instead of making your way
to the other side. And go home alone.
This is pretty much what we think happens at our CP/Beta Mixers. Enter THE MATCHELOR. We at FFF want to hook you up. And if you're willing to put your writing career in our hands. (That's a joke, btw) We'd like to help you out. We've created a questionnaire that I will post here and it will be available on a tab all month. You fill it out and send it to our email address fallingforfiction@yahoo.com by Wednesday March 20th. Please label your email, THE MATCHELOR, so we can easily filter through the critique requests and these forms.
Once we receive the forms we will go through them and based on the information you provide, we will connect you to your perfect match. The results will be posted during the week of March 25th-29th. Just like any blind date or dating show, we aren't going to make you become critique partners or beta readers. But by filling out the form what you're agreeing to do is exchange a chapter or a few chapters with the person we've matched you up with. After that, it's up to you to continue your glorious relationship. The only thing we ask is if we make a successful match, tell us! We'd love to hear about it and tell our followers about it too.
Simple enough? Please help us spread the word. The more participation the more likely we'll find great matches. We have this snazzy button you can use.

What a great idea. I have an awesome CP and betas, but I remember what it was like when I first tried to find a critique group. I had no idea where to go to find one.
Very cool idea! I'll post it on my facebook page when the post is up :)
Such a great idea!
Love the button! I need to help get the word out too. Such a great idea!
What a valuable contribution to the community! Sometimes finding beta readers is scary. ;)
I'm gonna head over to FFF right nizzow!
Saw news about this earlier - a great idea!
I'm certain the FFF girls are glad you posted no matter the day Leigh.
I'm not very hopeful I'll find someone from this event, but I sent in a form anyway. It's so hard to find a critique partner or beta when you write historical, in my experience.
We're the Matchelors and we speak for the cps!
Okay, that sounded way better in my head :)
Love the name, "Matchelor"! Best of luck with this. May everyone find their dream write-mates. :-)
Is this strictly for MG and YA? Do you include PB? Sounds like a great idea.
I've been hearing about this all over. I'm seriously considering giving it a go. :)
Awesome idea! I'm sure they will do a great job playing matchmaker. :)
