Blindsided... Oh, yeah!

Happy Monday Everyone!
I am so excited to be part of Kyra Lennon's blog tour today!
See, this little beauty?
It's the new book, BLINDSIDED, by Kyra Lennon and it is absolutely SPECTACULAR! I just love how Kyra writes, and she is an absolute romantic! Want to hear the blurb? I thought so!

After a successful first soccer season in L.A, Jesse Shaw heads to London with his best buddy, Hunter, but his world is turned upside down when a dangerous prank threatens his career and his blossoming relationship with Hunter’s cousin, Isabelle.

Isabelle Mills lives in Notting Hill with her parents and her twin sister, Georgia. When she finds out her cousin is coming to stay, along with his famous soccer player friend, her first instinct is to hibernate until they’ve gone. However, once she meets Jesse, everything changes. He’s everything she ever wanted, but with so many obstacles in their path, can she really risk putting her heart on the line?

Brilliant, right!
Well, as part of Kyra's blog tour, I have a fun interview with one of her characters, Izzy, today! I adore Izzy! Check out the questions to see why:

Hello Izzy! I'm so excited to interview you today!
1. I'd love to get to know you a little better. Briefly tell us a little about yourself and your interests.
It’s lovely to meet you, Leigh! Well … I’m eighteen years old, and I live in London with my parents and my twin sister, Georgia. I’m studying photography, among other things, at college but photography is my favourite. Taking photos is one of my main hobbies, besides spending time with my sister and my best friend, Willow.

2. What changed for you after you met Jesse?
*blushes* Everything! I used to be very shy. Well, I’m still shy, but Jesse makes me feel more confident. I don’t feel afraid to tell him whatever’s on my mind because I know he’ll never laugh at me, or make me feel like an idiot.

3. When was the first time you realized you liked him? Did you try to let him know you liked him, or try to play it off?
I realized I liked him as soon as I saw him again. You see, I met him a long time ago, when we were kids, but he looks a lot different now! I didn’t want him to know I liked him at first because I couldn’t imagine why a famous footballer would notice a quiet, plain girl like me. Besides, he lives too far away for us to really be together.

4. What are three of your favourite things, besides Jesse, of course!
Aww, I really can’t choose Jesse as one of them? :p Okay, as I mentioned above, photography is my absolute favourite thing to do. When it comes to material things, I love, love, LOVE the dress Georgia chose for me for our first night out with Jesse and Hunter. ;) It holds some special memories. My other favourite thing is actually a place. My bedroom. I’m not much of a people person, so it feels really good to hide myself away there and relax at the end of the day. I have these big squishy cushions on my bed to snuggle up to, and to make the place more cozy!

5. What is your favourite holiday, and why?
Easy! Christmas is the best holiday ever! Willow says Halloween is the best, but it isn’t as romantic as Christmas. I think that’s why I like it so much. It feels romantic.

SQUEEE!!!
Are you dying to read it? You ought to be! Make sure this little baby is on your Christmas list. It's the perfect book to curl up with this holiday season - and every other season that comes along afterward!

And a little about the author, Kyra Lennon:

Addicted?

Hello!!!
I'm going to set a goal to post every Monday! And that gives me an entire week to visit blogs before I have to worry about my next post! Whoot!

Now on to today's post

Do you have a bookshelf that looks like this? Maybe even more cluttered? The top two shelves are my books. The bottom two are my kids. I also have a bookshelf in my office with more of my books and some in my crawl space waiting for me to put them on the bookshelf.

This morning I was listening to the radio on my way to work and they were talking about the different kinds of "support groups" that are available. And it's amazing how many are out there beside the well known, AA and NA and other such things.

There is actually a support group for people that READ TOO MUCH! ha! I didn't know such a thing was possible, but apparently if it takes you away from the responsibilities of your everyday life, ... ALWAYS... then it's considered a problem. I still have to giggle. I could probably join this group, but instead I'd rather be part of the awesome writing community sharing all the awesome books that I get to READ!!!

Wouldn't you? Personally, I am very thankful for my books. I love them. I love when my kids pull them down to read them. I love finding a new one and adding it to the library. Are you thankful for your books? What does your bookshelf look like?

Focus!

I promise I'm not here to preach to you about having focus. I'm here to ask for your help! AHHH!

Seriously - I have such a fun idea for a book, which started as a YA contemporary. And as I mull through it in my mind, I wonder how I'm going to write it without any magic because I love writing magic and fantasy. But then... there's a part of me that thinks it'd be fun to turn into an MG book (blame the day job.) So that would nix the romance, but I could keep the fantasy stuff.

I'm at the point I want to pick and PLOT and start WRITING!

Do you ever have this problem? Does the massive amount of options you have as a writer sometimes hold you back? Do you ever have trouble deciding which way to go with your story?

I DO!
Any advice? Please share your thoughts, feelings, advice... or what you had for breakfast! I'm all for it!

Thankful for...

WOW!

I am thankful for my daughter being sick last night, thus making me take the day off work - THUS, giving me time to hop on the blogosphere, visit friends and find this awesome blog hop!
(Said daughter is absolutely FINE today. I must have needed this!)

Okay, okay...
I'm getting a little ahead of myself.
I popped into the blogosphere yesterday and guess what I found? THIS blog hop! Fun right? I loved reading all the posts that people shared, but MOSTLY - I loved seeing you guys! (In your blog form, of course!) You have no idea how much I miss being on here and associating with you all. It totally made my day to see what everyone is up to and what you're thankful for, so I wanted to jump on board the "blog hop" train, put together by the amazing Tara Tyler and Vikki. You ladies are wonderful!

Been gone for awhile
and missing my friends.
Finally found time
to tie up loose ends.

So I jumped right in
to the blogosphere.
And I found a fun blog hop -
I'm sharing it here!

But I also found friends
that remember ME!
Making my day,
I shouted with GLEE!

There's nothing quite as bright
as writerly peeps.
Always caring, always sharing -
I dance and do leaps!

So, this is for you,
Yes, YOU, awesome one!
Without you beside me
this wouldn't be fun!

Oh goodness! You asked for it! Okay, maybe you didn't actually ask for that, but you got it anyway.

You guys are truly amazing though and I am thankful to have such awesome support from the writing community. I'm also thankful for electric blankets, leaves that paint the landscape during fall, whoever discovered the cocoa bean and learned to make it into delicious chocolate delicacies,  and colored pens!

Peace Out!
