Not Your Average Fairy Tale Blog Tour!

Today I'm here to share the debut novel of the fabulous Chantele Sedgwick.... Not Your Average Fairy Tale!

I was completely hooked by the cover, and the story totally lives up to your expectations! It ROCKS! 

Ash (MC) is totally crush-worthy and the story between him and Kendall is so fun to follow. It's the kind of book that you don't want to put down. Plus, it has some fun little twists that keep you guessing and I LOVE that in a book!

And since Chantele is so freaking cool, she has agreed to answer a few questions for us! So here we go...
1. Briefly tell us a little about your journey to publication.  
Ha! Briefly. ;) Well, long story short, I had an agent who subbed my book to a few publishing houses. I realized we weren't right for each other (sounds like a marriage or something...Ha ha) and we parted ways. I still loved my book and realized there were more options than just the big publishing houses, so I submitted it to Crescent Moon Press and was offered a 2-book contract a few days later.

2. How did you come up with the idea for NOT YOUR AVERAGE FAIRY TALE? 
I had just finished reading a re-telling of Cinderella. I love re-tellings and had a thought. What if Cinderella didn't end up with the prince? And what if she fell for a fairy-godmother who was a guy? The rest is history.

3. What do you think is the best thing about being an author?
 
Oh, the life of an author. I think my favorite thing is letting my writing brain take over to get the stories out of my head. I LOVE writing. I love putting my own words on the page and seeing my characters come to life. It's crazy and exciting and HARD! But I love it anyway. There's something special about knowing you've put your whole heart into your book. Published or not. :D

And a few "chocolate chip questions."
4. If you could have any super power, what would it be and why?
I've always wanted to fly.

5. If you could be any "fantasy creature" what would you be and why?
 
Hmmm... If we're talking about fantasy creatures from my book, I'd have to go with a fairy. Reason one: They can fly. Reason two: They have super cool magic! And ... Ash is a fairy ... and I love him. ;)
