Christmas Presents!

WOW! This time of year is insanely hectic! I feel like I can't catch up. The good news though --- I'm spending more time writing! Wahoo! It feels good to be writing again and I love my "writing nights!"

For lack of ideas on todays post, I am going with Christmas presents! Because... I have a huge box from Amazon sitting in my closet, all closed up and dying for me to open it! What does it have besides The Amazing Spiderman movie, and Brave? BOOKS, of course!!! That's all I want this year, and usually every year. Books and couple pairs of jeans if possible. I can totally use some jeans.

But... in case you're wondering what I will be opening on Christmas morning I'm going to share!

First... I pre-ordered this but I won't get it until February. That's okay. It's worth the wait.
And these are what I'll be getting for Christmas. If I can wait that long!

SQUEEE! I can't wait!

And I know I'm going to put in at least one more book order before the holiday arrives because there are so many more I want to read. A lot of you have books coming out and if they available by Christmas they're on my list!!! So, what books would you suggest? Any great new books you've read lately? And if you have a book that'll be available for Christmas, be sure to share in the comments!

An interesting list of books to read, Leigh.

My book, Day Laughs, Night Cries: Fifteen is available and I'm on tour at http://getbetweenthebookends.blogspot.com/2012/12/virtual-book-tour-street-survival-young.html

Have a good day.

I always ask for books for Christmas. I usually give people a list so I'm not exactly sure what I'm getting - it's sort of a surprise that way. Oh, and I ask for gift cards to bookstores and/or Amazon, too. :)

I have a page on my blog that is all authors and books and every one of them is available now!

Yeah, just give me a gift card to a bookstore and I'm good for the holidays. :)

The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater is the main book on my Christmas list this year. I really wanna read that one.

For any family that asked, I requested Amazon gift cards so I can load up my Kindle. I have a bunch of craft books I want to hoard!

OOH! I want to read Feedback and Outpost, too! Nice choices.

Ooo, good list of books. I know who I want as a book lending partner.

I tend to do a lot of order-one-book-as-a-gift-get-one-for-me - it's so hard to resist!

I'm hoping to get Reached from Santa. I've asked him for it a dozen times. We'll see if he remembers. :)

I've read two of those books and I know you'll love them! Merry Christmas to you :)

I'm reading Feedback right now. And I can't wait for Reached to be ready. Um, as far as suggestions I'm not sure. LOL. I have Keeper of the Lost Cities coming and I can't wait to read that one.

I've already listened to Feedback, and I need to get Reached.

Ooooh I jus reviewed VARIANT on my blog, Leigh. I couldn't get into Feedback though :(

I am in the middle of reading THE NIGHT CIRCUS which I quite like. (100pgs in) Very magical. I really wish the library had it in stock though - 25 copies of all the different brances and they are all OUT . Gah!!! Guess I'll have to trudge back to the bookstore - don't tell 'em I do that, okay? ;)

I just also read LEGEND. Interested to see about PRODIGY. I think we're on the same book page, Leigh! :P

I'm weird but I always like an Amish Christmas Story at Christmas -- ordered Cynthia Keller's book. Would like some book store gift cards. But, big gift is going to the SCBWI conference in NYC. And, my husband's coming with me and will have a blast with friends while I'm at the conference. We also bought tickets to a Broadway Show. Haven't been there for a while?

Hey Leibby :)

Sounds like you have Christmas presents all organized... must be a Mom thing, 'cos this Dad is wayyy behind schedule :)

Good to "see" you :)

I'm right there with you! Been so, so busy, but I've managed to squeeze in some fantastic writing time. Boy, does that feel good!

Yes, the only thing better than a white Christmas is a white Christmas with books in hand. :)

I recently read POISON STUDY and loved it (I'm giving it away on my blog right now if you want a chance to win a copy!)

I really want to read THE EMPEROR'S SOUL by Brandon Sanderson. It's a novella. $5 on Amazon, but I haven't brought myself to spend the money yet, ha!

Carrie Butler said...

Oo, you'll have to let us know if you enjoy them. They look great! :)

Kelley Lynn said...

Ah! I LOVED Legend. Can't wait for Prodigy :)

I'm not as organized as you. I ask for B&N gift cards and that way they are there when I need more things on my Nook :)

I bought Automatic Woman for my kindle. And there's the super awesome novel Throne of Glass. You've made some great choices already. Have fun reading it.

There are so many books I want to read I wouldn't even know where to start! That's the only thing I ever want too! :)

Those are some great books! They make me so excited!

Samantha May said...

I'm loving that list!

I'm so glad you're getting back to writing! I've slacked off big time recently, so I'm working on it :P

Coleen Patrick said...

I'm waiting to read Reached too. Yay! I will have to check out the others. Oh and happy writing Leigh!

Susanna Leonard Hill said...

I have to laugh at how similar our taste in books is, Leigh! I also pre-ordered Prodigy, I bought Reached for my daughter, but I'm probably going to read it first :), and I don't have Feedback yet but I loved Variant, so I'm hoping for a xmas present of that! Ann Aquirre I am somehow not familiar with, but since we seem to like a lot of the same books I will have to give her a try! :)

I love books but only read them once and then never again, no matter how good. Is that odd?
