"W"ho I Am...

Oh man! This A-Z Challenge has been fun, but this last week of letters is the hardest! Hopefully I will not disappoint!

First- I got tagged, TWICE in the Lucky 7 Meme! Whoot-whoot! Thanks to Stephanie Sinkhorn at Maybe Genius and Melissa Pearl! You can check out my "lines" by clicking HERE! And thanks again ladies! You totally made my day!

Now onto the "Who I am!"
I never thought I would be one to like country music, but I do. I listen to other things too, but I like country as well. I think this song came out in 2001, so it's been a while... but I absolutely loved it when it came out. I think it's important that we all know exactly who we are and not be ashamed of it.

And while we're talking about music... lets not forget Whitney! I listened to her ALL.THE.TIME when I was younger. Her older stuff is my favorite, but there's no denying how talented she was.

So today I leave you with a wish. I wish that you will seize that one moment in time. That you will show what you're made of. What you're capable of. That you will know who you are and let that shine from you!

I love that Jessica Andrews song. That and There's More to Me Than You are two of the most inspirational songs to me.

Love the Who I Am song. I've never heard it before. Once you know who you are it seems easier to tackle anything that tries to get you down. But it's not always easy to know and stay true to who you are.

LEIGH!!! I love Jessica Andrews' Who I Am! I have 3 different versions on my iPod and whenever it pops up on one of my playlists I drop everything I do so I can enjoy it without distraction! Yeah, it's THAT special to me!

Turning 30 was liberating for me...I figured I was old enough to be myself and leave peer pressure behind!

I grew up listening to Whitney Houston, too, so her older songs are my favorites. :)

Okay, today I'm just trying to figure out anything that starts with X, Y, or Z. So far I'm failing.

You and your country music, Leigh. :)

Kidding. You know I (secretly) love it, too. Btw, your enthusiasm is contagious. I'm seeing it all over the place.

I remember my second tape ever was a Whitney Houston tape (my first was MJ). I think I wore it out cause eventually it got caught in the spokes (what are those things in a cassette player/recorder?) of my little red boom box :)
Wishing you your one moment in time as well! Let's make it several :)

I'm hooked on country music because of its penchant for storytelling. Thanks for the inspirational thoughts in this post.

Wow I really like your song and really am not a big fan of country music. Thanks for the rec, Leigh. I also tagged you in a game of 11 questions. :) Best- Rachel

I've never got into country, but then I've never listened to much of it. When travelling across the middle states of the U.S., I often had to put a mix tape on just to escape the twang on the radio. haha. Seriously, I wouldn't write it all off, and if I do ever hear a country song I like, I will embrace it with arms wide open! (I haven't listened to that Jessica song yet!)

as for Whitney, well of course the woman was a legend, and I definitely love her old stuff too!

Oh it's been a long time since I heard Whitney's "One Moment In Time". Too bad she's already gone. So sad.

Many people run through life and just believe they know who they are without actually knowing.

Maybe some are too scared to find out...
