"C" is for Captain Underpants!

My son took his money to school the other day, without telling me, and came home with this from the book fair! I guess if he's going to spend his money, I can't blame him for spending it on books, right?

Anyway... meet Captain Underpants
My son is 8 and he LOVES this. And there are MORE! Oh, yes! Lot's more!

And honestly... Dav Pilkey couldn't have picked a better name for his character and the title of his books. What 8 year old kid isn't going to pick this up? It's WAY too awesome. I think I'm going to read it myself!

Also - if you didn't get a chance to vote yesterday, click over HERE real quick and cast your vote. Super quick and easy!

Have you read Captain Underpants yet?

Hahaha, Captain Underpants is a genius title to capture the attention of kids. Especially boys! I know of these books but I've never read them. I'll have to ask my 7-year-old nephew if he knows of this series!

Aw, my brother liked that book as a kid! I don't think I ever actually read it, but I don't think I'll ever forget that cover.

LOL I've seen the books before, but I've never read them. They look hilarious though!

The first time I heard that title, I giggled. When I finally saw the book cover, I laughed my tar-tar off. Too cute and I love it that your son chose a book to spend his money on. Woot for reading!!!

Ha! That looks like something my son would like, too. :) I'll have to check it out.

LOL!

My oldest (eldest?) turns 8 today! Crazzzzy... but she's a girl, so I'm not sure if she would dig Captain Underpants, lol... more of a boy thing? IDK!

Oh, Captain Underpants and I have met on several occasions. He is quite the trickster. I love that your son snuck money to buy a book.

Happy A-Z blogging.

I haven't read it and my kids don't really have much interest so I may not get there...

My biggest gripe with the guy is the amount of misspelling in the book (on purpose). Otherwise I'm all about reading, even if it's about Professor Poopy-pants and the Terrible Wedgie Woman. Oh and have you seen Ook and Glok?

I'm going to have to have a chat with Mr. Pilkey. My likeness and superhero identity demand royalties!

My son is 8 also and we've had Captain Underpants in house on several occasions! Dav Pilkey has some great picture books too :)

Captain Underpants is quite popular in our room. Ook and Gluk or Super Diaper Baby also rank up there. If cartoon novels and gross humor can hook them, I'm all for it!

Ha ha ha... it's amazing some of the things you discover in children's books. I found one at the library the other day about a naked mole rat who was outcasted because he liked wearing clothes...

Spongebob Squarepants and Captain Underpants should have a showdown!

I have never read Captain Underpants, but I know most of the school I work at loves the books. I also heard last year of Fly Guy - which is cute, too. Whatever it takes to get kids reading!!
